Overview

Area Sales Manager Building Plastics (Business Development Manager) responsible for field sales of a distributed range of building plastics across the South West & South Wales.

Responsibilities

• Sell a distributed range of building plastics (wall panels, fascias & soffits, guttering, cladding, decking, drainage, trims & sills, roofing and windows & doors).
• Manage one of the largest ledgers nationally (£9m).
• Generate £750,000 of new business revenue.
• Stimulate demand with various contractors and back-sell through 8 branches in the area.
• Typically conduct about 16 appointments per week.
• Support individual branches as required (branch turnover ranges from £30,000–£200,000 per month).
• Allocate ~70% of time to existing portfolio management and ~30% to new business development (target list provided).
• Collaborate with the regional team of area managers and spend a couple of days a week at branch level, 2 days on the road visiting customers, and 1 day for home/admin work.

Qualifications / Experience

• Experience in area sales for builders merchants or selling to contractors/installers (roofing contractors, cladding contractors, window fitters, decking contractors, general tradesmen, etc.) is preferred.
• Open to candidates with building product field sales backgrounds or distribution/builders merchant experience.
• Specific knowledge of wall panels, fascias & soffits, guttering, cladding, decking, drainage, trims & sills, roofing and windows & doors is not essential as full product training will be provided.
• Driven, target-focused, team player, and analytical thinker.

Remuneration & Benefits

Remuneration: £45,000 (Negotiable) + up to 40% bonus. Benefits: Fully expensed hybrid car & full benefits.
