Job Description

Area Sales Manager – Construction Plant Sales, based in the North West. The role is a field sales position, selling a distributed range of construction plant including excavators, dumpers, rollers, concrete/rock breakers and portable generators.

Responsibilities

• Sell a distributed range of construction plant to ground workers and civil engineering contractors, as well as plant and tool hire companies, hire retailers and landscaping contractors.
• Target and achieve sales of £5–7m, with individual deals typically up to 10 machines (mini‑mini to 8‑tonne excavators).
• Conduct new business acquisition and re‑introduction in an established area with no dedicated field sales resource for the past six months.
• Prepare quotes, weekly sales reports and order confirmations.
• Build relationships with key accounts managed by the Managing Director.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in construction/plant sales.
• Knowledge of plant machinery such as excavators, dumpers, rollers, etc. is desirable.
• Ability to work independently and be proactive in new business development.
• Willingness to travel and resilience in dealing with contractors and site environments.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary up to £50,000 “Neg.” plus uncapped commission of £12,000–£24,000. Benefits include a fully expensed hybrid car or car allowance and full benefits package.
