Area Sales Manager (South Central) – Gradus Limited
Location: Home-based with field coverage across Central South and parts of Southwest London.
Salary & Bonus: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum, plus up to 35% bonus OTE. Employment type: Permanent, Full Time.
This role will be responsible for development of Contract & Distribution sales in the region through specification of the Gerflor portfolio of products.
Geographical Area: Approximately 80% travel across Central South and parts of Southwest London; average of one overnight stay per week. Postcodes covered include NN, OX, HP, SL, RG, GU, PO, SO, SP, BH, DT, WD, HA, UB, TW, SW.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify, engage, and secure new business opportunities for new build and refurbishment projects.
Specifically target local authority public buildings, design and build sector for main contractors, public & private sector educational premises, care premises, NHS Trusts / hospitals, private commercial non‑retail buildings, and private sector industrial premises.
Coordinate the sales process from specification, tender, contract award, on‑site activities, sales secured and after‑sales care.
Use CRM to record all activity and maintain a project pipeline.
Promote and achieve brand awareness by visiting architects, designers, principal contractors, flooring contractors, local authorities, builders, quantity surveyors and end users.
Organise and present CPD seminars with specifiers.
Participate in trade shows, road shows and factory visits.
Provide market intelligence on competition, distribution, product trends and standards.
Work closely with the Regional Team and Key Account Managers.
Inspect complaints on behalf of the company when necessary.
Qualifications & Experience:
Successful specification sales experience.
Track record in driving sales growth with a highly sales‑driven and technical mindset.
Experience in new business development or a senior sales role, ideally in a similar sector.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Flexible, dynamic, and highly organised.
Confident presenter, both verbally and in writing.
Passion for providing excellent customer service.
IT literate in Microsoft Office.
