Overview

Area Specification Manager role covering the South West of the UK. This field-based position involves driving the specification of building products across architectural and construction projects in the South West territory.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with architects, specifiers, and housebuilders to ensure the full range of products are specified on relevant projects using the OneSpec Proposition system.
  • Manage pipeline, track projects from concept to execution, and work with wider sales teams to convert specifications into orders.
  • Travel regularly across the UK & Ireland region; a company car/allowance is provided.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to build a pipeline of projects, including networking with key stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Promote product solutions through CPD sessions, networking events, and other professional development activities.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to create and present case studies for flagship projects and highlight successful projects through internal and external channels.
  • Provide regular progress updates to management detailing the pipeline, key wins, and areas for development.
  • Contribute to key commercial meetings.

Hours of Work

Mon to Fri, 9am to 5pm.

About You

You will be an experienced specification manager with extensive knowledge of the building products or construction materials industry and a proven track record of managing projects from specification to completion, with experience working with architects and specifiers to secure product specifications.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong understanding of building products and the ability to communicate technical specifications effectively.
  • Experience using CRM software to track project pipelines, log activities, and report on progress (preferably SalesCloud or similar).
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with architects, contractors, and decision-makers in the construction industry.
  • Ability to deliver professional presentations and CPD sessions to promote product solutions.
  • Full UK driving license and flexibility to travel across the UK & Ireland region regularly.

Desirable

  • Previous experience with specification tools (such as OneSpec).
  • Background in sales or a commercially driven role within the construction industry.
  • Experience working with marketing teams to create case studies or promotional material for architectural projects.
  • Relevant certifications in architecture, construction, or building product specifications.
