Overview
We are seeking to appoint an Asset Management Inspector to support the delivery of our Water, Land and Biodiversity (WLB) asset work across the Kent, South London and East Sussex area (KSLES) to ensuring assets are safe, effective, resilient and that our future investment requirements are fully understood.
You will be expected to manage your own workload and work flexibly according to the demands of the role, with support from colleagues. Knowing the condition of our assets underpins our risk based approach to asset management. The information is used to help us plan our work and target our resources.
This role will include on-site data collection, visual inspections to determine asset condition, identifying issues and liaising with colleagues to correct defects, and desk-based processing of asset information in our asset management information system.
Responsibilities
- Inspect WLB assets across the KSLES area (approximately 3 days a week)
- Process and cleanse asset data with guidance
- Assist WLB area and national asset management staff as required
- Assist the Area WLB Asset Management Technical Lead
Team and Working Arrangements
Reporting to the WLB Asset Team Leader, working alongside the area Asset Management Technical Lead within the Environment Management portfolio. You will be flexible and adapt your ways of working to changing guidance and new evidence. You may be required to attend sites across the KSLES area.
Experience / Skills Required
The ability to manage a varied workload is essential. The following experiences are beneficial:
- Interest in improving the environment for future generations
- Ability to develop and maintain good relationships with internal and external customers
- Deliver work by planning, tracking, gathering and maintaining data/information
- Ability to work under own initiative and as part of a team
- Organisational skills and ability to use MS Office (strong Excel skills desirable)
- Proficiency in IT and confidence in managing data
- Full UK Driving Licence
Incidents and Location
You will be required to have an incident role and be available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract additional payment and training, with alternative working arrangements available. You must be based within the KSLES area and can choose base locations in Addington, Canterbury, or Tonbridge. A full UK driving licence is required.

Provide examples showing workload management, data analysis, and health and safety behavior.
Role-specific Licensing
Full UK Driving Licence required.
