Overview

The Crown Estate is seeking a strategic and customer-focused Portfolio Manager to join the Regent Street team on a maternity cover basis. This role is central to delivering proactive portfolio management aligned with our annual business plan and overarching strategy. You will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight of assets, driving financial, social, and environmental value creation, and ensuring our approach remains customer-centric and innovative.

Responsibilities

  • Lead asset-level strategy and delivery of asset plans in line with business objectives.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships, including joint venture partners, to support strategic goals.
  • Oversee leasing activities, lease events, and small capital projects, ensuring alignment with customer needs and business parameters.
  • Shape and implement customer mix strategies using consumer data, catchment analysis, and market insights.
  • Monitor performance and contribute to property valuation processes.
  • Support capital markets activity, including preparation of approval papers.
  • Maintain portfolio-level profit and loss accountability.
  • Foster strong customer relationships and ensure service excellence.
  • Collaborate across teams—Operations, Customer Partnership, Development, and Capital Projects—to deliver the business plan.
  • Proactively manage business risk, including health and safety, and escalate issues as needed.
  • Champion innovation, agility, and empowerment in line with The Crown Estate's values.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience managing diverse customer relationships and delivering value across financial and non-financial dimensions.
  • Proven track record in property or real estate, with P&L responsibility and asset performance oversight.
  • Experience managing mixed-use assets and working with joint venture partners (preferred).
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of value drivers.
  • Skilled in report writing, presenting recommendations, and summarising complex information.
  • Excellent negotiation, influencing, and relationship-building skills, including matrix reporting.
  • Resilient, diplomatic, and highly motivated team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Strategic planning and business planning capabilities.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
