The Role

Being an Asset Manager at Neptune Infrastructure Associates is not your standard asset management job.

It’s about owning the whole relationship and delivery of asset management services for your clients, bringing together the right people, information, and decisions to get the very best from some of the most exciting renewable energy assets in the world.

You’ll be the face of NIA for our clients and their first call when they need insight, guidance, or support making a critical decision. You’ll work as part of a small but highly capable delivery team, made up of analysts and operational specialists, while drawing on our wider network of subject matter experts to solve challenges across commercial, operations, finance, and strategy.

What makes this role special is the freedom and responsibility you’ll have. We trust our Asset Managers to run their engagements like their own business. You’ll have autonomy over how you deliver results, the responsibility for meeting commitments, and the support of the NIA team to guide and develop your thinking.

Core Responsibilities

In practice, you’ll take responsibility for the full scope of asset management services that we deliver to our clients, including:

  • Client relationship & leadership: acting as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor managing day-to-day client needs.
  • Performance monitoring & reporting: overseeing monthly reporting across P&L, balance sheet, and cashflow; interrogating variances; identifying performance drivers; and producing board materials that highlight risks, opportunities, and recommendations.
  • Financial & commercial management: facilitating cashflow forecasting, sensitivity analysis, valuations, and annual budgets; managing loan administration, repayments, and SWAP settlements.
  • Contract & service provider oversight: monitoring operator and service provider delivery, holding them to account on performance, ensuring compliance with obligations, and driving long-term value through strong commercial management.
  • Governance & risk management: ensuring governance frameworks are clear and effective, flagging risks early; and equipping clients with the information they need for informed, timely decisions.
  • Stakeholder engagement: supporting clients in high-stakes discussions with co-investors, operators, and service providers, connecting financial, technical, and operational perspectives to create clarity and alignment.
  • Team leadership & coaching: guiding NIA analysts and operational specialists, providing feedback, building confidence, and ensuring everyone thrives while contributing their unique strengths.

Beyond the Day-to-Day

Alongside delivering our asset management services, you’ll also play an important role across other aspects of NIA. That means contributing to high-impact special projects such as developing optimised operating models, portfolio integration initiatives, and strategic commercial support.

It also means sharing your expertise outside of client work, contributing at NIA client events, being a part of training sessions for the wider market, and helping us to develop new services and tools.

Person Specification

We’re looking for someone who is more than an asset manager by title, someone who can combine commercial, operational, and strategic thinking with the drive to get things done properly. You’ll bring personal attributes, skills, and experience such as:

  • Proven experience in asset management within renewable energy or a closely related infrastructure sector, ideally with exposure to offshore wind.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with experience managing budgets, forecasts, P&L, and cashflow.
  • Operational understanding of how large-scale energy assets are run, including performance optimisation, stakeholder engagement, and risk management.
  • Financial literacy to be able to interpret management accounts, valuation models, and financial performance reports.
  • Stakeholder management skills, comfortable representing clients at board level, with lenders, and with investors.
  • Project leadership skills, with experience coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and external partners.
  • Self-motivated and accountable: Someone who takes full ownership for outcomes, not just tasks.
  • Collaborative: Someone who thrives in a network-of-peers environment, sharing expertise and supporting others without formal hierarchies.
  • Client-focused: Someone who sees challenges from the client’s perspective and takes pride in delivering measurable value.

Working at NIA

We believe people do their best work when they are in an environment that inspires them, where they have the flexibility to balance their busy lives, and where they feel part of a team they can truly call home. At NIA, we don’t believe in rigid rules about how work should happen for you, but we do have a natural rhythm that helps us strike this balance.

Our main office is in Cheltenham, and we also have bases in London, Manchester and Liverpool. Our team members usually spend a few days each week in their local office, often on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, while working from home at the start and end of the week if that suits them better. Everyone’s circumstances are different, and we trust each other to find the rhythm that works best throughout the week.

Alongside our local routines, we make the effort to spend time in one another’s offices too. Roughly every other week, we come together in a different location to stay connected, work side by side, and share ideas in person.

There’s no rigid formula for how this looks. We use our common sense and adapt to what’s going on, but as a team we value being on the move and making the effort to see each other regularly. These moments help us stay aligned and strengthen the bonds that make us NIA.

At the end of every month, we dedicate time for a full team day at our Cheltenham office. These days give us the chance to come together as one team, work on how we can deliver the very best for our clients, explore new opportunities and continue to grow together.

We also use this time to press pause for a moment and just spend time together as friends. Whether that\'s heading out for dinner and a few drinks, escaping for an afternoon in the Cotswolds or doing something a little different, we keep work and play in balance.
