At JoJo we’re on the lookout for an Assistant Buyer. You will assist your Buyer with the smooth running process of purchasing and producing of own-label Kids Fashion range and support the maternity and essentials departments when needed. Working closely with the other members of the design and production team this role helps ensure goods are developed and then produced to schedule, to target costings and to the quality standard expected. Working with the Buyer you will be involved with sourcing new suppliers and managing existing suppliers. The role also involves helping with the management and training of team - BAAs to ensure targets are met with regards to systems management, sample management and ad hoc administrative duties.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate systems and critical paths for development and production.
  • Issue new/revised items to vendors and manage supplier and item setup.
  • Source new supply opportunities aligned with ethical/trading standards.
  • Place and confirm orders, manage delivery schedules, and update ETAs.
  • Liaise with suppliers, supply chain, and internal teams to ensure seamless delivery and address QC issues.
  • Emergency sourcing of replacement products as needed.
  • Update range plans, department spreadsheets, and current season sales data.
  • Support buyers with samples, submissions, costing, and supplier sourcing.
  • Conduct competitor analysis and present findings to senior teams.
  • Provide visual and data-led information for meetings.
  • Identify and follow up on new development and design opportunities.
  • Ensure proper handling of photo and wholesale samples.
  • Prepare for photoshoots and proof data, website, and catalogs.
  • Suggest alternatives and improvements when necessary.
  • Assist in cost gathering and rebranding efforts.
  • Communicate and sign off artwork changes with suppliers.
  • Identify priorities and support team members with training and troubleshooting.
  • Manage junior team performance and address process complications.
  • Provide general support to the business as needed.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience as a Buying Admin Assistant or Assistant Buyer
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to utilise systems & employ processes effectively for the role.
  • Strong time management skills, attention to detail, and accuracy of work.
  • Ability to assess problems and recommend solutions.
  • Confident supplier management and influencing skills.
  • Accuracy of Navision and spreadsheets to ensure minimal business corrections
