Our Buying team is growing!

As Assistant buyer you will be there to Support and assist the Buyers in delivering the buying strategy for the season as well as working alongside Designers and Merchandisers to deliver balanced and exciting ranges for all areas of the Adanola Brand. You’ll be integral to the day-to-day running of the Buying team through high levels of organisation and a great work ethic.

About your responsibilities:

• Support and assist the Buyers in delivering the buying strategy for the season
• Work closely with the team to achieve target intake margins/sales and profit plan alongside your Buyer
• Ensure the department ranges are bought and delivered on time and within OTB requirements
• Use sales and performance information to suggest areas for maximising sales and trading opportunities
• Supporting your Buyer; to help build a commercially viable product range that reflects the brand image and current trends
• Excellent price negotiation skills with the ability to meet company target margins
• Keep in touch with the market and have a strong competitor awareness
• Complete regular competitor analysis to benchmark prices and identify any missing styles
• Successfully manage supplier critical path to ensure deliveries are on time
• Update delivery schedule accurately and review in conjunction with the critical path.
• Clear understanding of supplier lead times and shipment methods
• Assist with fit sessions and confident in approving new samples/ swatches/ colours
• Build sign off packs for Junior Buyer/Buyer once range is selected and help with setup for meetings
• Successfully manage all orders in the range plan
• Chase through payments of supplier deposits and invoices with accounts
• Have a good understanding of fits and fabrics (including fabric qualities, fabric comps and weights)
• Look after sample management for their department, including sample room, filing, and collating photoshoot samples.
• Manage junior members of the team and support in their personal development
• Work with marketing functions to support their sample requests
• Deputise and make executive decisions when Junior Buyer/Buyer are absent

About you:

• Currently operating at Assistant Buyer level with a strong buying career to-date within the fashion industry.
• Have good commercial awareness alongside a creative eye for product and trends
• Super organised and can prioritise tasks under pressure
• Happy to get stuck into work that will ensure the overall Buying team is successful
• Excellent communication skills are essential with suppliers and internal teams
