About the Role

We're looking for an organised, commercially focused Assistant Category Manager to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. In this role, you'll provide day-to-day support to multiple Category Managers across a variety of product categories, helping to deliver compelling ranges, drive performance, and support key projects.

Key Responsibilities

1. Support multiple Category Managers in the delivery of category strategies and range development.
2. Analyse sales data, customer trends, and performance reports to help inform decisions.
3. Assist with product selection, range reviews, and line detail management.
4. Work closely with internal teams (Buying, Merchandising, Marketing, Supply Chain) to ensure smooth execution of plans.
5. Help coordinate and evaluate promotional activity, price changes, and seasonal events.
6. Liaise with suppliers to manage product information, samples, and timelines.
7. Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation to support meetings and internal reviews.
8. Monitor competitor activity and market trends to identify potential opportunities.

Key Skills & Experience

• Experience in a similar commercial, buying, or merchandising support role is advantageous but not essential.
• Industry background is flexible; transferable skills and commercial awareness are key.
• Strong analytical skills with confidence in Excel and reporting tools.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills; comfortable supporting multiple stakeholders.
• A proactive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn quickly.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively in a dynamic environment.
