We are recruiting for a passionate and enthusiastic Assistant Designer to join our in-house Design team for our brand Love & Roses. Working in a varied and forward thinking department, we are looking for someone who can add innovative ideas and enthusiasm into design processes and strategy. You will support and assist the Designer in developing, progressing & managing a profitable department across stores and online. Managing aspects of the department as required by the Designer.
Role Responsibilities:
- To research, design, develop and deliver a commercial, relevant and trend led range, understanding the customer and brand pricing structure
- To produce in depth catwalk trend analysis and range plan for each selling phase
- Attend fit sessions ensuring artwork, garment fit and embellishment are correct. Flag potential issues to Buying team that may affect the Critical Path
- Proactively drive obtaining research and inspiration through analysis of competitor shops, fashion blogs and trend resources
- Work closely with Buyers on Design briefs as required to support the needs of the business
- To work closely with the Creative Pattern Cutter to develop key shapes and execute clever design details and fabric manipulation
- Assist in the creation of trends and colour palettes appropriate to the season and end use
- Bring suggestions and share opinions at the weekly Design meeting, supporting with inspirational images and/or samples
Role Requirements:
- Excellent free-hand fashion illustration skills
- Excellent technical garment drawing skills
- Demonstrates an awareness of the retail industry
- Demonstrates accountability to deliver within role and drive the right results
- Helpful and approachable, always willing to extend help
- Demonstrates an awareness of trends and impact of potential threats and opportunities
- Proactive, vibrant and spirited and rises to challenges
