This role can be based in Bath, London, Leeds, or Edinburgh on a hybrid working model. Buro Happold is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Finance Business Partner to join our UK+ Finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. As our net Assistant Finance Business Partner you will support our finance function by taking on both statutory and management accounting responsibilities within a collaborative and innovative environment.

About The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and collaborative finance team. You’ll support the production of end-to-end management accounts, ensure accurate reporting of project revenue and costs, and assist junior team members with month-end and ad hoc tasks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly project accounts and support the production of end-to-end management accounts.
• Assist business partners with annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and ad-hoc reporting.
• Collaborate with the Project Operations Team and provide financial analysis to leadership.
• Oversee project approvals, closures, and regular financial system housekeeping.
• Support with invoice processing, month-end tasks, and general financial reporting.
• Monitor provisions, post journals, and liaise with group and regional finance teams.

What We Are Looking For

• Previous experience within a similar role.
• Resilience with excellent communication abilities and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; adept at maintaining supporting financial systems.
• Highly organised, able to prioritise and work to tight deadlines.
• A proactive and adaptable problem-solver, able to work independently.
• Experience in management accounts and month-end processes is essential.
• Previous experience in professional services or engineering/construction is advantageous.
• Experience with Agresso or Deltek Vantagepoint systems is useful but not essential.
• AAT qualification or similar is welcome; qualified by experience will also be considered.
