Assistant HR Business Partner (Hybrid) needed in Swindon, £27ph

Purpose:
To provide HR support and assistance to the HR Operations team, offering advice and guidance to managers and staff. The role involves building effective relationships with managers to influence and support their achievement of local and corporate objectives.

Accountabilities:

  1. Provide managers and staff with advice on policies, employment terms, and HR issues, in line with employment legislation.
  2. Support and coach line managers in managing people issues such as disciplinary and grievance procedures.
  3. Engage with trade union representatives regarding individual and collective issues; maintain relationships with managers, employees, and TU reps for positive interactions and issue resolution.
  4. Screen vacancies, identify redeployment opportunities, and assist in matching employees to suitable roles.
  5. Conduct job evaluations using benchmarking data to ensure fairness and consistency.
  6. Provide senior stakeholders with insights from HR data (e.g., sickness, grievances) and maintain accurate casework records.
  7. Address problems related to strategic, policy, or legal constraints.
  8. Understand local issues and advise accordingly from an HR perspective.
  9. Ensure proper procedures are followed in staff appointments and recruitment processes.
  10. Contribute to HR policy development and projects.
  11. Support research and prepare briefing papers as needed.
  12. Maintain professional development and network with HR colleagues.
  13. Keep up-to-date with HR policies and respond to employment queries.
  14. Communicate effectively with colleagues and external parties regarding work matters.
  15. Participate in working groups and represent the HR team in meetings.
  16. Perform other duties as appropriate for the grade and purpose of the role.

This is a full-time, temporary contract position.
