Job Purpose
The Ice Cream Assistant HRBP for Colworth will act as a lead for end-to-end HR supporting RD&I teams based in Colworth in The Magnum Ice Cream Company’s RD&I Global Centre.
This person will sit at the center of the HR engine and will have strong relationships with our other HRBPs, Talent Partners, People Partners, and employees. They must also be able to positively influence the employees’ experience at critical points in their career.
Key Responsibilities
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation to gain buy-in and support for proposed changes. Work with department heads and team leaders to ensure that organisational changes align with functional needs.
- Performance Management: Support performance management processes including end-of-year assessments for employees.
- Organization Development: Support business leaders and HRBPs in the implementation of their organization, for example, position management, OVHs/cost control.
- Support Ice Cream HR Strategic People Agenda: Work with HRBPs and Leaders to create and deliver project plans for managing any change programmes and reorganisations.
- Take a proactive approach to employee relations, reviewing data and spotting any employee relations trends, recommending solutions and coaching Line Managers to take any actions you feel are the right steps to take/ tackle problems before they grow.
- Work side-by-side with teams across HR (HRBPs, Payroll, Reward, Global Mobility, Talent Acquisition etc), providing support and subject matter expertise to recommend appropriate actions to address queries or problems.
- Lean into central teams People Agenda topics when needed, helping shape and drive some of the site initiatives.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
- Able to connect the dots on all things HR and its impact on the wider business. Being able to step back and view the bigger picture is essential.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, building strong relationships with trust & confidence, as well as having the ability to influence.
- Ability to influence strategic deliverables in a matrixed organisation.
- Ability to manage multiple requests and priorities simultaneously.
- Experience of employee relations and case management, including knowledge of UK employment laws and regulations
- Experience in handling sensitive matters with tact and diplomacy, you are comfortable having difficult conversations, working professionally and discreetly with sensitive information

Recruitment Fraud
Cyber criminals advertise fake job adverts with prestigious employers as a way of stealing information or even defrauding individuals out of money. In the most sophisticated cases, they will set up fake websites, which have a similar address to companies like Unilever. They even conduct fake telephone interviews and then offer candidates a role with the proviso they pay a fee for background checks or to cover work visa costs. These types of attacks are becoming more common as more people are looking for employment in the economic climate.
How is Unilever tackling this?
Many of Unilever’s recruitment sites publish a warning to candidates about recruitment fraud. The Cyber Security team also proactively scan for signs of people setting up fake Unilever sites and act to close them down.
