Assistant Manager - Audit of Tax & Reporting

Responsibilities

  • Maintain positive constructive relationships inside and outside KPMG
  • Provide tax technical input on a mix of listed and non-listed multinational groups, including involvement in the audit of tax in financial statements
  • Support clients with their group/statutory Tax Reporting needs
  • Support clients on GAAP conversion projects
  • Provide technical input to tax accounting project work
  • Support with the delivery of corporate tax compliance engagements and compliance outsourcing contracts
  • Support on the tax and tax accounting implications of new legislation
  • Draft responses to client requests for ad hoc technical advice
  • Support on sales activities by working with more senior members of the team on proposals and propositions across functions, sectors and accounts
  • Follow KPMG best practice and policy across client sizes and sectors, with flexible working arrangements available (discussion of own requirements welcome)
  • BEPs: Help clients transform their operating model, processes, systems, data in preparation for Pillar 2
  • Managed Services: Provide compliance services to global clients across a range of tax, accounting, transfer pricing obligations under a managed service arrangement
  • Technology: Help clients leverage technology, tools and platforms to transform their tax function
  • Tax Operating Model: Collaborate with clients to build and operate a leading tax function, managing tax risk, opportunities, reputation and compliance
  • Data Management: Support client tax teams to maximise the use of data available in the organisation to effectively manage the Tax Function

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge and experience of corporate tax legislation and its application
  • Demonstrates curiosity and openness to new ideas, approaches and perspectives

  • Analyses problems, identifies core issues, investigates, evaluates and integrates information

  • At assistant manager level, strong communication skills internally and externally, ability to drive forward propositions and key initiatives, effective prioritisation and financial management, resilience and flexibility, experience in developing others and managing engagements, confidence in engaging with clients and driving results
  • We welcome applications from those qualified by experience, as well as ATT / CTA / ACA or equivalent qualifications
  • Project Management qualifications and transformation skills (e.g., Lean Six Sigma) are welcome
  • Specific area readiness: BEPs, Managed Services, Technology Transformation, Tax Operating Model, Data Management
  • Data Management experience may include deploying data-focused solutions, configuring technology, and familiarity with Azure data lakes; experience in statutory and tax space is helpful but not mandatory
