Role Overview:
Jaded London is seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Assistant Merchandiser to join their growing team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to contribute to a expanding brand and department, bringing their ideas and expertise. The main focus will be on trade analysis, providing insights and managing actions daily, weekly, and seasonally. Responsibilities also include sales forecasting, quantifying buys, and contributing to planning, range building, and strategy.
Effective communication skills are essential to build strong relationships with internal teams and external supply chain partners.
We are looking for someone proactive, detail-oriented, and a strong problem solver.
Key Responsibilities:
- Update Monday trade reports promptly, identify key highlights and lowlights, and suggest actions to maximize sales and reduce stock risks. Drive weekly analysis independently and present findings to Merchandiser and founders.
- Follow up on trade actions with departments such as Ecommerce, Social, Logistics, Production, Design, and Suppliers. Provide feedback and suggestions for future strategies.
- Monitor slow and fast sellers, propose strategies to improve sales, and manage risks by liaising with internal teams and adjusting buys accordingly.
- Maintain daily awareness of trading performance, especially around collection launches, and adapt stock management accordingly.
- Manage repeats and continuity lines, forecast linecards accurately, and ensure maximum availability of bestsellers.
- Recommend and adjust quantities for repeats, forecast size ratios, and analyze sizing and returns regularly.
- Suggest price adjustments for full price and markdown, providing strong rationale considering cover, margin, seasonality, and discounts.
- Update and analyze WSSI and category WSSI, highlighting opportunities and risks, and deputize for reforecasts when needed.
- Contribute to seasonal analysis and strategy discussions, presenting findings regularly.
- Manage deadlines and priorities effectively, communicating with teams to meet seasonal and trading dates, especially for short shelf-life products.
- Build relationships with suppliers, understanding supply chain capacities, freight impacts, and calendar dates.
- Review intake levels, coordinate with warehouses and logistics, and suggest freight adjustments to manage risks and opportunities.
- Collaborate with buying and design teams on assortment, product categories, quantities, pricing, and margins.
- Position and trade pop-up shops, working with external partners and internal teams to maximize revenue.
- Build relationships with wholesale partners, understanding their trading climate to enhance performance.
- Provide ongoing insights and analysis to support the evolving brand and team decisions.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong commercial awareness and trading mindset.
- Proven experience in forecasting, SKU management, and stock control.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Passion for fashion and Jaded London.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with suppliers.
- Proactive, adaptable, and innovative in process improvements.
- Excellent communication skills for internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong prioritization, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
