Assistant Performance and Data Analyst – South West Regional Organised Crime Unit (SWROCU)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the South West Regional Organised Crime Unit (SWROCU) as an Assistant Performance and Data Analyst. Attached to the Business Team, the role will play an integral part in managing large datasets and generating analytical insights to support decision making across the wider SWROCU and the South West Region.

Working collaboratively across the ROCU, South West Police Forces, and with our National and Law Enforcement Partners, this role is central to informing and improving our work combatting Serious and Organised Crime. It will help instil and maintain data quality, assist in the delivery of self-service and bespoke performance reporting, evaluating our efficiency and effectiveness, and actively promoting the Performance Framework approach in support of the strategic objectives and goals of the SWROCU.

You will provide research and analysis of SWROCU data, supporting the Performance Analyst, and producing timely and accurate performance data and reporting that will inform insight and decision making at all levels.

Location -Almondsbury - SW ROCU Northern Hub, within the vicinity of junction 16 of M5 - BS34 6PY, Exeter - SW ROCU Southern Hub, within the vicinity of junction 29 of M5 - EX2 7HQ

Hours - full time (37) or part time (29.6)

Main Responsibilities include:

SWROCU is a collaboration of Police Officers and Police Staff from the five South West Regional Forces. We’re part of a National network of nine ROCUs covering England and Wales.

We have more than 20 Capabilities that Staff and Officers work in to Pursue Offenders, Protect and Prepare individuals and organisations, and Prevent people from engaging in Serious and Organised Crime.

Our Capabilities are here to advise, to assist, or to fully adopt investigations.

We work with local Forces and National Partners to target and disrupt criminals posing the greatest risk of Serious and Organised Criminality. This includes offenders involved in Cyber Threats, Economic Crime, Drug Conspiracies, Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking, and Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation.

Vetting and Safeguarding:

This post is subject to a higher security clearance at MV and SC – Management Vetting and Security Clearance Level.

To be eligible to apply for this role you must have a five-year ‘checkable history’ in the UK – ideally this means that you would have been resident in the UK for the last five years.

Police Barred and Advisory lists:

Blended Working/ Hybrid Working

This role has been identified as a blended role.

The successful candidate for this role will have the opportunity to work from home whilst also at a secondary work location, which will be a police premises. The successful applicant will have the option to discuss working arrangements with their line manager. All applicants must reside within the UK.
