Job Title: Town Planner

About the opportunity:

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a growing planning consultancy in their search for a Town Planner to join their dynamic planning team. This role is ideal for a planner with at least 2 years' experience looking to develop their career within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, submit, and manage planning applications and appeals.
• Conduct site appraisals and provide strategic planning advice to clients.
• Work on a variety of developments, including residential, mixed-use, and rural schemes.
• Liaise and negotiate with local authorities, stakeholders, and the public.
• Stay up-to-date with planning policies, legislation, and guidance.
• Support senior planners and directors while developing your own client relationships.

About you

• Qualifications: Degree in Town Planning, Urban Planning, or a related field. MRTPI accreditation or working towards membership is desirable.
• Experience: 2-3 years in a planning consultancy, local authority, or similar environment.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of the UK planning system, including local policies and procedures.
• Skills: Excellent communication, analytical, and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
• Attributes: Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and a collaborative team player.
