Overview

Associate Director Building Surveyor at Summers-Inman (Bellrock Consulting). This role focuses on leading client relationships, delivering multi-sector Building Surveying projects, and providing strategic and operational leadership to growing BS teams as Summers-Inman is integrated with Bellrock Consulting.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate an understanding of overall project requirements and advise clients knowledgeably on Building Surveying.
  • Experience across multiple public and private sectors, including Universities, Schools, Healthcare, Local Government, Utilities & Industrial.
  • Produce specifications and schedules of works for refurbishment and extension scheme projects.
  • Provide contract administration services including pre- and post-contract work.
  • Manage projects to monitor progress onsite, including coordination of multi-disciplinary design teams.
  • Conduct building surveys and defect diagnosis; monitor all work to ensure a professional service.
  • Experience in party walls and dilapidations is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge and experience using AutoCAD.
  • Drive quality and governance standards across all commercial processes.
  • Support business development through bidding, proposals, and client presentations, playing a visible role in growth of the consultancy.
  • Lead on innovation and the implementation of digital tools to enhance client insight.

Qualifications

  • Chartered MRICS Building Surveyor with significant consultancy experience.
  • Experience delivering projects across a broad range of sectors, with emphasis on project delivery, surveys, dilapidations and party walls.
  • Experience supporting the senior leadership team within Summers-Inman.
  • Commercially astute with strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Mentor and develop Building Surveying team members across Summers-Inman and Bellrock Consulting, fostering knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Client-facing project leadership experience and the ability to develop new business opportunities.
  • Collaborative, proactive, and strategic thinker.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Working arrangements

Smarter working practices with flexible and remote options where business needs allow. The successful candidate will work from 6 Thorpe Way, Leicester LE19 1SU and from home as required. Typical hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm with a one-hour lunch break.
