The Associate Director, Collaborative Partnering (ADCP) works as a hands-on practitioner, performance coach and trusted advisor internally, with collaborative partners and directly for clients. They are responsible for developing high-performance culture, collaborative behaviours and working practices for leaders and teams working on complex infrastructure programmes. They take a strategic approach to collaborative partnering, providing a wide range of interventions for colleagues and clients, and work across the four CPT services to identify and deliver the right intervention at the right time.

WSP’s Collaborative Partnering Team (CPT) works with Clients, Project Leaders and Delivery Teams to establish and embed high-performance collaborative culture, behaviours and ways of working across the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Build strong, trusting partnering relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enable effective needs analysis and delivery of Collaborative Partnering Services.
  • Provide aligned subject-matter expertise, advice, feedback and coaching to individuals and teams at all levels of the organisation.
  • Design and deliver leadership and team development interventions that meet needs, outcomes, budget and timescale.
  • Assess and coach leadership and team performance to applicable requirements.
  • Partner with the Strategic Bid Team to contribute to work winning strategy, written responses, and train and prepare tendering teams for client engagement.
  • Contribute to the evolution of Collaborative Partnering services, approaches and toolkits.
  • Work independently with little oversight while aligning with organisational and team vision, strategic priorities and programme budget/timescales.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through the delivery of quality consulting services.
  • Role model high-performance collaborative behaviours in all interactions.

Role Requirements

  • Demonstrable knowledge of behavioural and social science theory (human behaviour, organisation development, leadership, and team dynamics) with experience translating theory into practical results.
  • Experience and interest in a practitioner-based coaching approach to help leaders and teams achieve sustained success.
  • Experience designing and leading behaviour-based development programmes that support project teams and embed good collaborative practice.
  • Confidence working with leaders and teams internally and externally at all levels, providing trusted advice, coaching and constructive challenge to drive high performance.
  • Experience delivering high-quality consulting services directly to clients and building relationships and repeat business.
  • Interest in partnering internally and externally with standards such as ISO44001 and Project 13 / collaborative delivery models to implement best practice for collaborative working.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in Organisation Development and/or Organisation Psychology preferred.
  • Extensive learning and development experience with demonstrated ability to design and facilitate bespoke leadership and team interventions.
  • Chartered CIPD level experience or equivalent preferred.
  • Executive / senior leader coaching qualification and/or experience facilitating development through behavioural coaching preferred.

Mobility

  • The work will be performed both virtually and across the U.K. with frequent, flexible travel required.
  • Ability to travel in/out of London and Birmingham on the day preferred.
