Overview
Associate Director – Data Centre Consulting (Design & Construction). Our client is a fast-scaling global consultancy, dedicated exclusively to the digital infrastructure and data centre sector. They are seeking an Associate Director – Data Centre Consulting to join their London-based team and play a pivotal role in shaping strategy, delivery, and client relationships across major EMEA projects.
This is not a traditional project management role. It’s a strategic advisory position where you’ll leverage your technical depth in MEP engineering, data centre design, and construction delivery, while also demonstrating the commercial acumen and client-side perspective needed to advise some of the world’s most influential data centre investors, operators, and developers.
What You’ll Do
- Act as a trusted advisor to global clients, guiding them across design, procurement, and construction delivery for mission-critical facilities.
- Deliver strategic inputs including feasibility studies, technical due diligence, investment assessments, and commissioning oversight.
- Lead design reviews, risk assessments, and MEP optimisation, ensuring clients achieve scalable, sustainable, and cost-effective solutions.
- Engage directly with C-suite stakeholders, investors, developers, and engineering teams, bridging technical detail with commercial strategy.
- Produce high-impact outputs: board-level reports, strategy memos, and client briefs that influence decision-making at scale.
- Support the wider team in developing long-term client relationships, bringing both technical insight and business-focused thinking.
London | Hybrid working with flexibility
Permanent Role
Competitive package including performance bonuses and share options
About You
- 8–15+ years’ experience in data centre design, construction, or delivery, ideally with exposure to consultancy or client-side roles.
- Deep technical knowledge of critical infrastructure systems (electrical, mechanical, cooling, HVAC).
- Demonstrated commercial awareness, comfortable advising clients on investment, procurement, and programme strategy.
- Degree-qualified in Engineering, Building Services, or Construction Management.
- Exceptional communicator, able to influence senior decision-makers while keeping credibility with engineers on the ground.
- Experience working across international data centre portfolios is highly desirable.
What’s On Offer
- Step into a senior, client-facing leadership role with influence beyond typical engineering/project management tracks.
- Play a central role in high-profile, strategic data centre projects across EMEA and beyond.
- Join a consultancy where your expertise directly shapes the growth of the world’s most advanced digital infrastructure.
- Flexible hybrid environment, ambitious team culture, and real long-term career progression.
