Their client, a global leader in engineering and design consultancy, is seeking an Associate Director to join their Technology Consulting team, specialising in smart buildings, digital infrastructure, and ICT systems. This is a strategic leadership role for a seasoned professional passionate about shaping the future of the built environment through innovative technology solutions.

About the Role

The Associate Director will lead multidisciplinary technology projects, drive business development, and mentor a high-performing team. You will work with experts in digital strategy, smart cities, digital twins, and data analytics to help clients realise their digital vision—from city master planning to building fit-outs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead project delivery across the technology discipline, ensuring technical excellence and client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to shape and execute the discipline’s growth strategy.
  • Engage with clients to develop bespoke digital strategies and technology roadmaps.
  • Promote smart building and smart city technologies, integrating them into architectural and engineering designs.
  • Manage bids, budgets, and resource allocation across multiple projects.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to knowledge sharing and team development.
  • Represent the discipline in industry forums and contribute to thought leadership.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be a technology expert in the built environment, with a strong track record in ICT infrastructure delivery and digital transformation. They will be confident in leading teams and projects, and skilled in stakeholder engagement and strategic consulting.

  • Extensive experience in smart building technology, structured cabling, wireless networks, IoT, and passive ICT infrastructure.
  • Proven leadership in project delivery and client engagement.
  • Strong business development acumen and an existing network of industry contacts.
  • People management and mentoring experience.
  • Relevant industry qualifications and a commitment to professional development.
