We are looking for an Associate Director to act as a technical lead on our projects and help deliver a wide range of local authority projects in the UK. The Liveable Places team collaborates with local authority and private clients to achieve place-making ambitions, delivering schemes from concept to delivery in areas including public realm, highway engineering, inclusive design, traffic engineering, road safety, traffic signals, pedestrian/traffic modelling, active travel, and parking.
The Liveable Places team is based across the country with over 200 staff and is growing. This role offers opportunities to develop through exposure to a wide variety of experiences and to play a pivotal role in the team’s growth.
Typical clients include Westminster City Council, West Sussex County Council, East Sussex County Council, Leeds City Council, Cambridgeshire County Council, Richmond Council, Croydon Council, Redbridge Council, West of England Combined Authorities, National Highways, and others.
What you will be doing (Responsibilities)
The Associate Director will act as a technical lead on projects and lead and manage project teams and individuals, delivering projects on time and within budget. You will engage with stakeholders including public sector officials, members of the public, and other senior colleagues, and contribute to project management and financial control across a range of live projects.
What we are looking for (Qualifications and Experience)
- A civil engineering degree or equivalent
- Chartered membership of a relevant professional body
- Proven ability to lead and manage project teams and individuals
- Proven ability to successfully deliver projects
- Proven track record in project management and financial control
- Passion for mentoring and developing talent
- Highway, transport, traffic signals and road safety engineering experience
- Excellent ability to engage with stakeholders including public sector officials, members of the public and other senior colleagues
