Associate Director, Market Access and Reimbursement - Kite (Gilead Sciences). Hybrid role based in Stockley Park, London (UK), 3 days per week.
Kite, a Gilead Sciences company, has launched multiple cell-therapies in five indications globally. This role sits in the regional team and reports to the Senior Director, Head of Regional Value and Access. The position supports ex-US markets by co-leading payer value, pricing and market access optimization for Kite’s CAR T portfolio, and by guiding reimbursement dossiers and payer negotiations with local affiliates.
Key Responsibilities
- With the Kite Value & Access Directors, account for favorable market access for Kite’s CAR T portfolio across the Australia, Canada and Europe (ACE) and International regions, ensuring access for the right patients at the right price.
- Collaborate with local affiliates to develop and implement strategies to secure, sustain and optimize pricing, access and reimbursement.
- Provide strategic leadership on local initiatives to optimize prices and maximize long-term profitability.
- Develop robust internal pricing proposals/business cases and present or support them at ACE or International Pricing Committees.
- Ensure local market access needs are understood, communicated, and HEOR programs are established to meet them.
- Maintain up-to-date understanding of payer needs and monitor regulatory/pricing landscapes to adapt strategy.
- Collaborate with Brand Teams, Medical Affairs, Finance, Market Research, Legal, Government Affairs, and other functions to reflect current and projected market dynamics.
- Ensure local Market Access activities comply with regulatory agencies, public policies, and corporate policies and procedures.
- Support cross-portfolio pricing insight generation and strategy development.
Qualifications / Experience
- Strong track record in Market Access, HEOR and/or Pricing and Reimbursement at local or regional/global levels, with understanding of interdependencies across regions.
- Experience in HTA submissions and responding to HTA queries; hands-on development of core value models and reimbursement dossiers.
- Oncology therapy area knowledge with ability to translate clinical needs into commercial plans.
- Analytical and strategic skills with entrepreneurial insight and pragmatic approach.
- Excellent communication, management and leadership skills; ability to influence and negotiate cross-functionally.
- Proven ability to manage complexity across multi-functional teams and build strong relationships.
- Strong business orientation with ability to view issues from multiple functional perspectives while managing ambiguity.
Role Expectations
- Work with Market Access Directors to cover the whole ex-US markets.
- Collaborate with Commercial, HEOR, Medical, Government Affairs, Public Affairs to develop optimal market access strategies.
- Develop reimbursement submission plans and strategy; coordinate launch sequencing with commercial and pricing teams.
- Project-manage and oversee creation of V&A materials for countries (payer detail aids, market access resources, budget impact models, formulary packs).
- Support affiliates in HTA submissions and ensure alignment to strategy; support payer engagements in HTA assessments.
- Identify and implement regional V&A policies to support Kite’s product portfolio.
- Translate HEOR and V&A information into actionable recommendations and tactics; lead pricing insight generation.
- Present complex pricing/HTA concepts clearly to non-experts; manage external vendors and consultants for timely deliverables.
- Prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and maintain alignment with national and global objectives.
- Demonstrate initiative, deliver high-quality work, and communicate with stakeholders regularly.
Travel / Location
- Approximately 30% travel.
- Based in London – Stockley Park.
