Role overview
Due to increased workload across the Infrastructure and Real Estate sectors, Turner & Townsend has a new opportunity for an Associate Director to join our growing Contract Services division in the UK, leading strategic procurement and end-to-end procurement services on major projects and programmes.

The Opportunity

The individual will work with and lead our highly skilled team delivering best-in-class strategic procurement and contract advice, including end-to-end procurement services for large brands and high-profile programmes. This role supports the growth of our Contract Services team with offerings in Sustainable Procurement, Transformation, Renewables, Digital Procurement and Net Zero Strategies.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist procurement strategy advice to Public and Private sector clients.
  • Lead and manage end-to-end procurement services on major projects or programmes.
  • Lead and support the development of the procurement services provided by Turner & Townsend.
  • Lead and develop a team to achieve successful client outcomes.
  • Manage client relationships and related commissions, outputs and deliverables.
  • Lead and support business development and marketing of the Contract Services team’s service proposition.
  • Lead on bid preparation and proposal documentation and support the work winning capability of the contracts services division.
  • Support the delivery of team and wider business targets.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience in and/or knowledge of regulated procurement, particularly Public Contract Regulations 2015, with awareness of potential changes to the regime.
  • Leading strategic major procurement projects or programmes for Public and Private sector clients.
  • Strong background in tender preparation, development and management, including negotiation.
  • Experience in commissions, client relationships, and people management.
  • Experience developing and using various forms of contracts with focus on NEC and JCT.
  • Cross-sector experience with a strong public procurement background is desirable.
  • Progress toward MCIPs accreditation (or willingness to work toward).
  • Business development experience including bid development.
  • Degree related to construction, civil engineering, quantity surveying, law or procurement preferred.
  • Experience in Defence, Utilities, Infrastructure sectors is preferred.
  • SC Security Clearance – currently valid or transferable.

  • Ability to lead and develop strategies and documentation for major procurement projects compliant with Public Sector Regulations.
  • Strong people management and the ability to supervise delivery for successful outcomes.
  • Excellent client relationship skills and proactive issue resolution.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to manage diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to develop supplier evaluation, commercial modelling and Supply Chain Intelligence strategies.
  • Ability to manage business development and career development activities.
