Job Description
KPMG’s Strategy & Performance Transformation practice is seeking exceptional Associate Director candidates with Energy Transition experience in Deal, Strategy, or a Commercial role. Our team is part of KPMG’s expanding Strategy Group, delivering value by challenging conventional thinking, leveraging industry and functional insights, and executing with investor-grade rigor. We collaborate across KPMG’s broad capabilities within Deal Advisory.
Our Strategy & Performance Transformation team works closely with C-suite and senior executives to grow, transform, and transact, adding value for shareholders, employees, and society. In a context of decarbonisation, digitalisation, regulation, and post-COVID normalization, demand for services such as growth strategy, transactions, and transformation is high. We aim to create value by executing sustainable, fair, and profitable business strategies swiftly.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the team, increasing sector presence.
- Identify new opportunities and contribute to winning work.
- Build relationships with key clients and other advisors.
- Advise on high-profile projects such as net zero strategies, sector decarbonisation, future of gas, low carbon tech assessments, etc.
- Apply structured strategic problem-solving, combining established principles with creative thinking.
- Manage project delivery, delegate tasks, develop project plans, handle client interactions, monitor budgets, and ensure risk compliance.
- Own proposals for new business in the Energy sector.
- Mentor and coach junior staff.
- Maintain technical knowledge of the energy sector, including power, gas, CCUS value chains, and related policies and regulations.

Your Experience
Successful candidates will have:
- Significant deal, commercial, or strategy experience in the energy sector.
Technical skills include strong knowledge of corporate strategy, investment decisions, transaction exposure, emerging net zero technologies, new value propositions like electric vehicles, hydrogen, CCUS, renewables, storage, energy policy understanding, report writing, Excel and PowerPoint skills, strategic and financial analysis, project management, mentoring, and stakeholder engagement.
