Job Description Summary

The Associate Enterprise Architect will work alongside others within their team to contribute to the development of the architectural strategy & to support the Platform they are aligned to. They will be a developing technologist that supports their Platform define the strategic north star and technology roadmaps associated to these. They will be an individual contributor within a team, requiring developing stakeholder management skills, technical skills, and domain knowledge.

JOB TITLE: Associate Enterprise Architect

LOCATIONS: Edinburgh, Bristol, Manchester, Leeds, Halifax or London

SALARY: Regional £48,000 - £53,000 | London £56,000 - £62,000

HOURS: Full time, 35 hours per week

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We’re looking for passionate and collaborative Associate Enterprise Architects to help shape the future of our technology landscape. In this role, you’ll support the strategic direction of our architecture by contributing to roadmaps and patterns that guide our transformation journey. Working closely with senior architects and stakeholders across the business, you’ll play a key part in ensuring our solutions align with both our architectural vision and business strategy.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Support architectural strategy across platforms and products, aligned with tech and business goals.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure technology decisions drive strategic outcomes.

  • Assist in creating architectural documentation for governance and compliance.

  • Contribute to agile delivery with architectural insight from concept to implementation.

  • Research emerging technologies to inform design and foster innovation.

  • Participate in governance and change initiatives to uphold architectural standards.

  • Invest in your development and support a culture of learning and knowledge sharing.

WHAT WE’LL NEED

Architecture & Technology

Enterprise Architecture experience with good working knowledge of architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF, Zachman, etc.) and exposure to a range of modern technologies including some of the below:

  • Cloud platforms(GCP, AWS, Azure) and hybrid hosting architectures

  • APIs, microservices, and modular applications

  • Data strategies(data lifecycle, ETL, data modelling, governance)

  • Cybersecurity

  • Technology sustainability

  • Payments, digital transformation, retail banking

Collaboration & Communication

  • Strong communication and storytelling skills

  • Ability to build trusted relationships across engineering, product, and business teams

Continuous Improvement

  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with tech trends

  • Willingness to drive process improvements and adopt best practices
