The CASS & Resolution Policy team lead strategic initiatives to address risks to client assets and minimise harm in firm failure. This involves working with colleagues across the FCA and externally including HMT, the Bank of England and Insolvency Service to strengthen legislative and regulatory frameworks, in all cases looking to achieve better outcomes for consumers and markets.
You will be responsible for assisting on the design and implementation of strategic initiatives to strengthen legislative and regulatory frameworks on client assets and resolution matters. Examples of the team’s work include contributing to consultation papers on payments safeguarding and cryptoasset custody, as well as preparing and amending guidance for insolvency practitioners appointed to FCA regulated firms.
What will you be doing?
- Assisting on policy and strategy projects on client assets and resolution matters, including researching and organising data to help assess causes of harm to consumers and markets, maintaining project plans, and working with policymakers, supervisors and other specialists across the FCA
- Preparing first drafts of proposals, committee papers, guidance and other policy papers including supporting on policy input required for CASS-related queries and rule modifications/waivers, including researching and preparing policy advice with appropriate oversight
- Coordinating input and engagement from internal and external stakeholders
- Assisting with project management across different workstreams and helping to prepare material and presentations for colleagues across the FCA and externally
- Becoming a specialist in the field of client assets and resolution

Minimum
- Experience in working with analytical data with the ability to research and organise data, complex information or issues
- Experience of writing reports and professional communication
- Previous experience within financial services regulation, compliance audit, or legal

- Experience of delivering a variety of competing tasks with challenging targets under pressure, prioritising appropriately and escalating where necessary
