Offer Description

Durham University's Sociology Department, renowned for its impact and research excellence, is seeking to appoint three Associate Professors on a 0.5 FTE basis to lead one of the three GCCS Workstreams, in collaboration with Law, Business, or Education departments. Each role involves leadership in research strategy, implementation, or dissemination, along with active participation in research projects, external engagement, and mentoring.

Applicants with research and teaching interests in Contextual Safeguarding, especially in social work, voluntary sector, or education settings, are encouraged to apply. Candidates with a public-facing reputation in Contextual Safeguarding and extensive research and teaching experience are particularly welcome.

The roles offer flexibility with many activities conducted remotely or online, with travel for research and duties reimbursed. Travel to Durham for departmental meetings is not reimbursed, and presence is required twice a term.
