Our award-winning landscape architecture practice is growing, with teams in Arup that are linked through a global network. In the UK we have offices in London, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Leeds, Newcastle, Sheffield and Winchester/Southampton. We also regularly work with our international offices in Brisbane, Hong Kong, New York, and Sydney. It is an integrated team of landscape designers and landscape planners, with projects including landscape assessment and strategy, LVIA, green infrastructure strategies, concept design, masterplanning, detailed design, landscape management, visualisations and 3D modelling. We work side by side with a wide range of Arup’s other specialist disciplines including urban design, ecology, town planning, digital technology, engineering, cost consulting and project management.

We have a diverse workload of high-profile projects across the UK and internationally, ranging in scale from environmental infrastructure design, major transportation projects through to restoration, town centre regeneration, streetscape design and green buildings.

We’re currently looking for Associate / Senior Landscape Planners (dependent upon experience) to join our teams based in our new, ground-breaking offices in central Leeds or Sheffield / Birmingham and London, which are built for hybrid working. You will lead teams and projects, collaborating with an unrivalled community of experts, who will support and nurture your growth. This role will require you to lead on business development activities for landscape planning across the region and to support the professional development of others in the team and. The Arup project portfolio is exciting and diverse covering all aspects of landscape planning from policy to the development of strategies. This role will expose you to a range of project scales and types, each offering their own opportunity for tailored personal development. A key focus of the role will be on leading on and writing LVIAs, including to support Development Consent Orders (DCO) for major projects, ensuring good design is embedded from the outset.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following qualifications, attributes, and skills as well as an exceptional report writing ability, and an interest in planning and assessment as part of an integrated design process.
