The role is based in central Leeds or Sheffield / Birmingham and London, built for hybrid working. You will lead teams and projects, collaborate with an unrivalled community of experts, and support the professional development of others. A key focus is leading on landscape planning, including writing LVIA, to support Development Consent Orders (DCO) for major projects, ensuring good design is embedded from the outset.
Responsibilities
- Lead on landscape planning projects across the region, including policy development, strategy work, LVIA preparation, and DCO support.
- Lead on business development activities for landscape planning across the region.
- Support the professional development of team members and coach junior staff.
- Collaborate with urban design, ecology, town planning, digital technology, engineering, cost consulting and project management disciplines.
- Manage projects and fees, and build strong relationships with clients.
Qualifications and Skills
- A degree in Landscape Architecture or Landscape Management; CMLI accreditation is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and how landscape work relates to it.
- Typically 10+ years of professional landscape architecture experience, with multi‑disciplinary team experience.
- Strong leadership, collaboration, and project and commercial management skills; track record in client relationship management.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and managing budgets; strong report writing ability.
- Working knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS/Pro, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.
Desirable Skills and Knowledge
- Experience in sectors such as energy, commercial development, urban regeneration, residential, education, health, historic buildings and landscape planning strategy.
