Role Overview

We’re currently instructed by a national, specialist law firm with a strong reputation in employment law to assist in recruiting an Associate Employment Solicitor for their Manchester office.

This is a permanent, full-time position within a well-established and growing employment team, known for handling a wide range of contentious and non-contentious matters for both insured and private clients, including complex tribunal claims, advisory work, and internal HR procedures.

You’ll be part of a Legal 500-recognised team working on a diverse caseload of high-quality matters within sectors such as Health & Social Care and Leisure & Hospitality.

Candidate Profile / Experience Needed

The team seeks a qualified Solicitor with at least 5 years pqe and solid experience in employment law, primarily tribunal litigation work.

Essential experience includes:

• Conducting proceedings in the Employment Tribunal for insured or private clients, focusing on Respondent work.
• Bringing or defending appeals in the Employment Appeals Tribunal (EAT) and beyond if necessary.
• Advising on ACAS Early Conciliation, HR issues, grievances, disciplinaries, and settlement agreements.
• Drafting employment law materials for colleagues or clients.
• Presenting employment law courses for colleagues, clients, or prospects.
• Supporting colleagues in other departments by conducting disciplinary or grievance hearings or investigations when needed.
