The company is a multi-skilled planning and design consultancy working with developers, land promoters and landowners across the UK. From early site appraisals and feasibility through to masterplans, design codes and planning submissions, you\'ll join a supportive team that values mentoring, continuous learning and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Lead and drive urban design projects from feasibility through to outline and planning submission stages
- Prepare and oversee masterplans, design codes, development briefs and supporting planning documents
- Undertake site appraisals and feasibility studies, articulating clear, people-centred design responses
- Manage client relationships; contribute to business development and portfolio growth
- Coordinate inputs across disciplines (planning, heritage, transport, landscape, economics) to achieve integrated outcomes
- Present design proposals clearly through drawings, reports and client/ stakeholder meetings
- Support and mentor junior team members; help shape the growth of the Design team
Qualifications & Requirements
- Post-graduate qualification in Urban Design (or strong UD interest with Architecture/Landscape/Planning background)
- Proven UK consultancy experience on residential, mixed-use and/or employment-led schemes
- Strong knowledge of UK urban design and placemaking principles
- Creative design flair with attention to detail from strategic visioning to parcel-level resolution
- Excellent written, visual and verbal communication skills
- Chartered RTPI (or working towards), or Recognised Practitioner in Urban Design/committed to achieving it
- Software: Adobe CC, AutoCAD, SketchUp; Vectorworks and QGIS desirable
- Confident hand-sketching advantageous
- Team leadership, coordination and quality management skills
- Eligible to work in the UK
