Buro Happold’s Waste, Operations, Logistics and Flows team is comprised of a diverse group of waste and environmental consultants who work with clients to develop bespoke solutions for waste management and goods flows. Our team comes from a range of backgrounds, including environmental studies, engineering, and operations. Collectively the team has worked on over 260 buildings and cities projects across 40 different countries. A typical day includes optimising architectural designs to make the segregation, storage, and movement of goods and waste materials as efficient, resilient, and environmentally positive as possible.

The role of Associate will include working with team members to review waste and logistics strategies, waste generation calculations, back of house route planning, waste and goods storage and transport methods and waste treatment options. The role will require someone who is capable of bringing their extensive knowledge and understanding of the resources and waste management industry to our team, demonstrating an ability to analyse and evaluate complex problems, develop customized solutions for our clients, and integrate the latest industry standards and guidance into our work.

As a leader on the team, you will ensure projects are properly reviewed, stay on schedule, meet contractual deliverables, and work within agreed budgets. As an Associate you will provide specialist waste and logistics consultancy advice to clients, architects, collaborators, and key stakeholders involved on projects. An integral part of our work involves establishing and maintaining strong internal and external relationships which contribute to winning future work and expanding current service offers. Close collaboration with internal teams such as People Movement, Transport and Mobility, Infrastructure and Sustainability will evolve the quality of our work, align with long term strategic goals across the company, and will elevate our current and future service offerings. Buro Happold takes a people centric approach to cross discipline working, including opportunities to travel and experience new systems and cultures. We encourage a focus on new thinking, tackling waste, and reducing resource use.
