Assurance and Commissioning Engineering Manager – Automation

Following our Business Code of Conduct and acting with integrity and due diligence, the key responsibilities include:

  1. Building effective relationships and communicating clearly with stakeholders.
  2. Contributing to the automation engineering team within Tesco for the UK, setting strategy and long-term direction.
  3. Auditing sites regularly to ensure equipment effectiveness and safety.
  4. Serving as a technical expert, working cross-functionally with engineering and safety teams to drive best-in-class solutions.
  5. Supporting automation projects, assisting design teams, commissioning with detail, and supporting operational handover.
  6. Monitoring site performance using dashboards, reacting to trends, and liaising with OEM support to resolve issues.
  7. Collaborating with peers to identify data-driven opportunities for capital investment, advising on best practices.
  8. Being a Subject Matter Expert on failure principles, tailoring approaches to specific problems.
  9. Maintaining high engineering standards across our estate as part of the core automation team.
  10. Developing professional engineering skills and those of peers to ensure high standards of management and maintenance.
  11. Working with vendors and contractors to meet engineering and maintenance requirements, improve efficiency, reduce bottlenecks, and increase reliability, while managing budgets effectively.
