The successful candidate will have strong skills in assessing and managing hearing in children, with particular expertise in Visual Reinforcement Audiometry (VRA) testing.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Paediatric Audiologist to join our team on a locum basis. The successful candidate will have strong skills in assessing and managing hearing in children, with particular expertise in Visual Reinforcement Audiometry (VRA) testing.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive audiological assessments for infants and young children, including VRA, play audiometry, and tympanometry.
• Provide accurate and timely diagnostic reports.
• Work closely with ENT specialists, speech and language therapists, and other multidisciplinary colleagues.
• Advise families and carers with sensitivity and professionalism regarding test outcomes and next steps.
• Ensure high standards of clinical governance and adhere to local and national guidelines.

Qualifications

• BSc/MSc in Audiology or equivalent qualification.
• Registration with RCCP/HCPC (or eligibility).
• Proven clinical experience in paediatric audiology, particularly VRA.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

Required Skills

Preferred Skills

• Experience with hearing aid fitting and rehabilitation in paediatrics.
• Previous NHS or equivalent hospital experience.
