Team/Role Overview
The AI Assurance Tooling & Execution team ensures that Internal Audit leverages AI/GenAI to enhance assurance delivery by developing, prototyping, and integrating AI/GenAI tools into execution. The Audit Director – AI Business Enablement reports to the Chief Auditor Artificial Intelligence and leads a team that collaborates with Business and Function audits to prioritise and implement AI-enabled assurance use cases, driving efficiency and strengthening audit practices worldwide.
What You Will Do
- Provide strategic guidance and oversight for IA’s AI and GenAI tooling strategy, including tool evaluation and platform selection.
- Partner with IA Business/Function teams to design, embed, and adopt AI/GenAI solutions across IA.
- Evaluate vendor and internal solutions for assurance adoption.
- Prioritise onboarding of high‑impact use cases, optimising resource allocation for AI/GenAI adoption.
- Collaborate with the AI Technical Enablement team to deliver solutions on time, within scope, and to required quality standards.
- Identify synergistic opportunities for usage and development of assurance tools with Lines of Defence.
- Conduct technical and business process impact assessments.
- Support IA’s broader AI assurance mandate.
- Attract, develop, and retain talent, recommending staffing levels and implementing talent management processes.
- Lead across IA to maximise efficiency and effectiveness of resources.
- Provide local site leadership, encouraging engagement and collaboration across IA organizations.
- Support and endorse the Quality Assurance function, resolving issues found by QA to improve audit processes and coverage.
- Build strong relationships with regulators and other IA teams, maintaining trust and compliance.
- Share relevant knowledge and insights across IA teams to drive consistent application of methodology and higher audit quality.
What We Will Need From You
- Extensive experience in a related role with risk and control expertise.
- Experience in technology‑enabled change, business process engineering, and optimisation.
- In‑depth understanding of GenAI/AI, machine learning concepts, algorithms, and the AI/GenAI lifecycle.
- Strong knowledge of IT governance and control frameworks (COBIT, NIST, Cybersecurity Framework).
- Familiarity with leading cloud‑based AI/ML platforms and associated governance, security, and deployment best practices.
- Understanding of AI/ML system security vulnerabilities, adversarial attacks, and data privacy considerations.
- Experience with data governance principles, data quality management, and data security practices.
- Relevant certifications (CISA, CIA, CRISC, etc.); AI‑related certifications are a plus.
- Executive presence and ability to build strong relationships with executive stakeholders, providing credible challenge.
- Ability to quickly comprehend complex global risk implications, escalating appropriately and providing pragmatic solutions.
- Outstanding performer with resilience, agility, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership skills, including talent identification and development.
- Experience leading large, diverse professional teams.
- Experience in technology product management and business, functional, and people management.
- Clear, concise written and verbal communication.
- Unbiased approach in a diverse environment and effective negotiation skills.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in law, ethics, decision science, computer science, data science, finance, accounting, or related field.
- Master’s degree preferred.
