Job Summary
This is a Hands-on Automation Team Lead role responsible for leading a small automation team (3-4) responsible for development, maintenance & support of automation processes of business workflow using technologies including both Power Platform and UiPath. The role requires strong hands-on experience (10+ years), along with at least 3+ years of experience in leading a team, preferably within financial services.
The Bank has several RPA processes with some built in UiPath and others in Power Platform. Power Platform is now the strategic technology choice for the bank with the current intention of migrating all UiPath processes to Power Platform in future. Therefore, experience in Power Platform is ESSENTIAL while experience in UiPath would be advantageous. The ideal candidate must be flexible to work across both technologies and learn quickly on the job
Prior experience managing a team of developers is a MUST. This is a hands-on role with 70-80% hands on development/support and 20-30% line management related activities
Hands-on experience with, Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps (Canvas Apps, Model driven apps), Power Pages, Power BI, Microsoft 365, Azure and Dynamics) in ESSENTIAL. Hands-on experience in UiPath would be advantageous.
Strong communication & articulation skills are ESSENTIAL for this role. The ideal candidate will have excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to negotiate priorities, navigate cross functional teams and departments, build relationships and take ownership of delivery and support in a fast-paced environment.
Key Work Outputs and Accountabilities
- Take ownership and accountability of development & maintenance of current and new automation processes
- Design, build and support automated processes using Power Platform or UiPath where appropriate
- Work closely with business stakeholders to negotiate priorities & establish delivery plans ensuring timely delivery
- Lead daily stand ups, team meetings & one-to-ones, allocate tasks to the individual members of the team and hold them accountable to high standards of delivery
- Should be able to guide the team and enable them to work independently
- Lead by example & contribute & own all phases of software development cycle from requirements, functional specifications, technical analysis/design, Build, Debug, Fix, Test and Deploy across different environments using Pipelines.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to understand stakeholder needs and offer analytical support.
- Introduce configuration management to track changes to Automation platforms and processes through their whole delivery lifecycle.
- Ownership of Line management, task allocation, reviews & performance management of developers in the team
- Recommend best of the breed solutions to improve SDLC, bringing in the best industry standards.
- Keep up with the updates from Microsoft related to the platform and advise on best practices and recommendations
Required Qualifications and Experience
- At least 10+ years of prior development experience in Microsoft or Automation space and at least 3+ years of experience line managing a team of automation developers
- Strong grasp of Microsoft Power Platform is a MUST with minimum 4 years hands-on experience on Canvas Apps, Model driven apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, Data gateway
- Experience in integrating Power Platform with other systems using Azure integration services or other API management platforms.
- Knowledge of ALM best practices, GitHub/Azure DevOps pipelines. Should have basic understanding of Azure Exposure to standard/custom connectors, APIs, PowerShell and platform governance
- Broad IT knowledge, skills and experience – including appropriate tools, processes and policies used in the development space.
- Must have knowledge of SQL, Power BI, SharePoint, M365, Azure
- Previous exposure to Banking/finance operations/process background and Trade Finance would be beneficial
- Experience of full SDLC with process analysis, design, and implementation; business and technical requirements; problem-solving; and system(s) testing, including UAT and bug fixes
- The role holder must be self-motivated, able to work on their own initiative and liaise effectively with professional staff and customers throughout the business
- Ability to track, manage and document all issues to ensure a successfully delivered solution
- Ability to quickly understand how systems and applications across the business hang together
Nice to Have skills:
- Ui Path and/or Microsoft Solution Architect Certifications a big advantage.
- Certifications: AZ 900, PL 900, PL 100, PL 200, PL 400, PL 600
- Experience with JIRA and Confluence.
