We are seeking a skilled and experienced Automation Test Lead to ensure the quality and reliability of features for the digitalisation of a benefit line on the account. Experience with Java Spring Boot microservices, MongoDB, and Node JS frontend services is required.

Hybrid working: The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

If you are successfully offered this position, you will go through a series of pre-employment checks, including: identity, nationality (single or dual) or immigration status, employment history going back 3 continuous years, and unspent criminal record check (known as Disclosure and Barring Service).

Your role

  1. Lead the design, development, and execution of Java and BDD test scenarios.
  2. Oversee the documentation of test cases, scenarios, and results.
  3. Coordinate with the development team to resolve defects.
  4. Guide requirement capture and provide testing expertise.
  5. Supervise testing of Java Spring Boot microservices and RESTful APIs.
  6. Manage testing of JS Node frontend services.
  7. Implement Cucumber and Selenium for BDD testing.
  8. Ensure thorough unit, component, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  9. Review and approve test plans and results.
  10. Mentor team members on MongoDB and NoSQL databases.
  11. Optimize CI/CD pipelines and CASA framework.
  12. Ensure secure data handling using JWTs.
  13. Lead accessibility, performance, and security testing initiatives.
  14. Utilize Docker and Maven for testing.
  15. Ensure adherence to web standards and GOV.UK design system.

Your security clearance

To be successfully appointed to this role, it is a requirement to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance. To obtain SC clearance, the successful applicant must have resided continuously within the United Kingdom for the last 5 years, along with other criteria and requirements. Throughout the recruitment process, you will be asked questions about your security clearance eligibility such as, but not limited to, country of residence and nationality. Some posts are restricted to sole UK Nationals for security reasons; therefore, you may be asked about your citizenship in the application process.
