The role

We are seeking a detail-oriented engineer to support the evaluation of advanced Driver Assistance Systems (DAS) in pre-series vehicles. You will:

• Identify and clearly define customer-relevant concerns through static and on-road testing.
• Capture data logs, imagery, and perform statistical analysis to support handover of issues to technical specialists.
• Plan vehicle specifications, select appropriate markets, and schedule test programmes to assess system performance and verify corrective actions.
• Conduct testing in the UK and internationally, with up to six analysis drives per year (3–10 days each).
• Travel to global locations as required (including Europe, the USA, China, Korea, Japan and the Middle East).
• Receive laptop access and full training on tools and processes.

Please note: All candidates must possess valid right to work in the UK without restrictions and must undergo a standard criminal record check (DBS).

Requirements for the successful candidate: A clean, valid UK driver’s licence is required — applications without a valid licence will not be considered. A valid passport with no restrictions for overseas travel may be required as some international travel is anticipated.

Responsibilities

• Analysis of issues and verification of solutions: Quick response to reliability testing issues via the Quality system (ALPOS) to define problem statements, determine probable root causes, and assess escalation or allocation to a problem owner.
• Interpret, analyse, and summarise complex vehicle data to create robust functional problem statements before assignment.
• Proactively manage reliability issue statuses in internal databases and ensure solutions are adequately verified for closure.
• Prioritise and escalate issues with potential high customer/warranty impact to relevant functions and forums up to executive board level.

• Defining testing and release criteria: Specify reliability testing criteria and vehicle usage profiles to identify potential functional defects in pre-series vehicles with warranty impact implications.
• Ensure standard reliability profiles cover different operating scenarios and specify required special testing procedures for features to meet customer expectations.

• Release events: Perform expert static and dynamic assessment of drive event vehicles, collate high-impact issues for reporting to the executive board, and prepare detailed documentation for drive events.
