Overview

We are working with a leading organisation in the technology and infrastructure sector seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to join its Enterprise IT team. This is a hybrid role with 2–3 days a week in the London office. The role focuses on designing, deploying, and supporting cloud-based infrastructure and platforms, with a particular emphasis on AWS.

Location: Aldgate, London (Hybrid)

Role

As a Cloud Architect, you will provide subject matter expertise, drive best practices, and ensure the delivery of secure, reliable, and cost-effective cloud services to internal stakeholders. You will work with fellow architects and DevOps engineers to design, deploy, and support cloud-based infrastructure and platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a subject matter expert in cloud technologies and solution architecture, particularly within AWS
  • Collaborate with internal teams and partners to translate business requirements into cloud solutions and infrastructure-as-code
  • Mentor team members and review technical/design work
  • Design and develop CI/CD pipelines and tooling
  • Deliver automation, patching, scripts, configuration, and alerting within cloud environments
  • Ensure reliability, security, and performance of cloud platforms
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and adoption of best practices
  • Produce clear technical documentation and support materials
  • Liaise with internal customers and set realistic timeframes for delivery

Skills & Experience Required

  • Technical degree or equivalent experience
  • AWS Architect certification (Associate or above)
  • Strong hands-on AWS knowledge across networking, compute, storage, IAM, logging, and serverless services
  • Demonstrable experience with Terraform IaC and multi-branch CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience working within frameworks such as TOGAF or BCS
  • Strong background in data lake and lake house design and implementation
  • Understanding of ISO 27001 and security best practices
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • AWS Professional or specialist certifications
  • Azure cloud knowledge or certifications
  • Agile/Scaled Agile (SAFe) experience
  • Scripting in Python
  • Security clearance or prior experience in regulated environments
