This is your chance to make a real impact in a global industry worth over £68 billion.The RoleAs a Back End Developer, you'll play a key role in designing and building new features for a cutting-edge event management platform. You'll work closely with front-end, back-end, and mobile engineers to deliver clean, scalable code, and will have the chance to take ownership across the full development cycle. This is a remote-first role (with the option to occasionally meet the team if desired) and comes with clear career progression, regular support from an experienced Technical Director, and a collaborative engineering culture.What You'll Be DoingBuilding reusable, scalable, and clean PHP code using Laravel (following TDD and OOP best practices).Designing and extending APIs and core platform functionality.Troubleshooting, testing, and maintaining databases and back-end services for performance and optimisation.Integrating third-party APIs, including leading payment processors and payment gateways.Working with AWS cloud services to support deployment and scalability.Collaborating daily with a talented remote team via stand-ups, code reviews, and monthly release cycles.Essential Skills & ExperienceStrong commercial experience with PHP and Laravel.Solid understanding of Vue.js and modern JavaScript frameworks.Experience working with MySQL databases.Hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, S3, etc.).Proven knowledge of payment integrations and payment gateways.UK-based (applications from outside the UK cannot be considered).Whats On OfferSalary up to £70,000 DOE.Fully remote working (UK only).The chance to impact a £68bn global industry.Work with the latest technologies in a modern, forward-thinking environment.A clear career progression plan and mentoring to help you reach your goals.Collaborative, friendly, and supportive engineering team.Oscar Associates (UK) Limited is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.
