By leveraging the wealth of legal-medical data that Fletchers has, and the funding provided by our Private Equity owners, we are seeking to further develop our sector-specific ML tools.Our initial focus is on NLP tools for supporting or automating legal tasks, medical-record reviews, and decision-support systems. Our existing AI team is spread across Cambridge, London, Manchester & Liverpool, and we currently meet once or twice per month in Manchester.In Return Fletchers Offers35 hours working weekBonus scheme (subject to targets being met)35 days holiday a year including bank holidays and Christmas Closure, you also have an option to purchase up to 3 extra days’ holiday per year, until you long service award the 3 days after your 5th, 7th, and 9th full year of employmentPension scheme with tax-efficient salary sacrifice optionLife Assurance PolicyMedicash policy to cover some dental, optical and other medical expensesCompany sick payEnhanced Maternity, Paternity and IVF schemesFlexible, agile working environment with a positive work-life balanceVaried calendar of funded company social eventsMonthly voucher awards for winning nomineesA genuinely supportive and friendly cultureOngoing training and professional development opportunitiesMain Responsibilities For The RoleDesign and implement back-end apps and services responsible for deploying, testing, and improving ML-enabled appsContribute to our infrastructure and architecture design decisions, by building a strong understanding of the business problem and collaborating with our existing teamsTake ownership for the backend infrastructure for several projectsCollaborate with and maintain close productive relationships with our product, data science, infrastructure, and front-end development teams across several projects in parallelWork directly with users to scope and resolve issues and bugsEnable ML tools and development work by building efficient and scalable data integration pipelines from a range of sourcesAutomate and monitor the deployment of ML modelsEssential Skills And Experience RequirementsProficiency with and detailed understanding of PythonFamiliarity with at least one Python web framework (Flask preferable, Django or others acceptable)Previous experience as a software developer, Python developer, or backend engineer (3+ years desirable)Experience working independently or with reduced support, such that you are happy self-managing and owning the backend infrastructure for several projects (or a willingness to learn this)Based in the UK (although the role can be primarily remote, we like to have in-person meetings around once a month)Desirable Skills And ExperienceStrongly Desirable: Start-up experience (building backends and data environments completely from scratch)Experience working with frontend technologies (TypeScript, React, others)Experience architecting and implementing solutionsPrevious experience with AzureKnowledge of Machine LearningFletchers Group is an inclusive employer with a diverse workforce: we welcome applications from any and all backgrounds.
