Job description
The Backend team develops the core of the Alta Video Management System. These are Cloud based distributed systems monitoring and managing Video Cameras, Access Control Systems and Sensors.
The Backend team is responsible for analyzing, developing, designing, and maintaining the entire backend ecosystem. This includes developing new features, adding capabilities and increasing capacities, along with maintaining the existing CI/CD systems and customer deployments.
We are an agile team that prides ourselves in allowing great autonomy and valuing collaboration, quality and security throughout.
Requirements / Qualifications
Please note, this is a hybrid role based out of the Uxbridge office for 1 to 2 days a week. You’re not expected to have all of the following skills, but they will be useful in performing your job.
- Has experience working as a software developer.
- Has experience in building the backend for large cloud based distributed systems.
- Has experience of a backend language such as Go, C++, Java, Rust or Python.
- Wants a career where their creative abilities will make a difference to the world of technology and where they will be part of an impressive R&D environment.
- Is passionate about writing high-quality code.
- Can demonstrate outstanding technical ability.
- We default to programming using Go, but also use a wide variety of different languages and frameworks. It’s not expected that you would be familiar with Go (or any of the other languages we use) but you should be enthusiastic and willing to learn new things.
- Understanding of service-oriented architectures and building cloud-based products. (bonus)
- Experience with Machine Learning, Computer Vision, AI technologies. (bonus)
- Team player who thinks holistically, enjoys solving complex problems and thrives working autonomously.
