We have an opportunity to join our experienced and established team of Clinical Psychologists within our multidisciplinary Community CAMHS Team. You will be qualified and registered as a Clinical Psychologist and possess experience of working with children and young people, preferably within a community CAMHS service. Weston-super-Mare and Clevedon are thriving seaside towns with easy commuting access to Bristol and Taunton.

Overview

The post holder will provide consultation, assessment and treatment to young people with mental and emotional health difficulties alongside their families. The team has a senior psychologist to support your professional development, and there are other professionals with a variety of skills from diverse backgrounds. Main duties

  • Provide a clinical psychology service to the specified team/service
  • Assess and treat a specialist workload of clients and maintain associated records
  • Participate in CPD and other developmental activities
  • Undertake research and development and clinical audit
  • Clinically supervise Assistant Psychologists, other professionals and trainee Clinical Psychologists

Essential qualifications and experience

  • Doctoral clinical psychology qualification or equivalent
  • Maintenance of appropriate professional registration (HCPC)
  • Post-qualification experience delivering evidence-based therapies to children and young people in CAMHS
  • Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team and contributing to team meetings

Desirable qualifications and experience

  • Experience of providing specialist assessments/interventions (e.g., Autism assessments (ADOS), Eating Disorders, or specialist CBT)

Skills

  • Ability to work with children, young people and families from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to work autonomously, organise and prioritise workload
  • Experience of assessing and managing risk, including suicidal ideation

Other requirements

  • Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check required
  • UK registration with the appropriate professional body
