An opportunity has arisen for a Head of Capital Finance, which will be responsible for the performance of the Capital Accounting team and leading the development and delivery of the financial strategy in relation to capital projects across the Trust.
The post holder will be required to develop and deliver the month and year end capital close down and liaise as required with internal audit.
Main duties of the job
We work on a hybrid model with a blend of office based on site, and remote working. Office based days will be at our newly refurbished offices at Regent Court, which is accessible via public transport, a few minutes from Five Ways station. Remote home working will be supported for up to 2 days per week.

Qualifications
- CCAB recognised accountancy qualification
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
Experience
- Capital and Lease Accounting experience
- Experience of monthly reporting cycles and population of month end reports
- Experience of working with other finance colleagues to ensure monthly tasks are completed within tight deadlines
- PFI Modelling and accounting experience
- Experience of NHS capital reporting and funding mechanisms
Additional Criteria

- Logical thinker with sound analytical skills, able to deal with large volumes of complex data and perform highly complex analysis of financial data.
- Ability to make judgements/decisions in complex situations and use professional judgement to ensure the best outcome for the Trust

- Manage a large workload and plan work according to changing priorities and deadlines
- Excellent verbal and writing skills
- Well-developed systems and IT knowledge
- Ability to use databases, analyse highly complex data, diagnose problems, identify solutions and undertake business case benefits analysis
