Bank staff play an integral role in covering temporary shortfalls in staffing which helps to maintain the high standards of patient care we seek and provide across the Bedfordshire Hospitals in Bedford and Luton. Working for the Bank can offer you fantastic levels of flexibility even for those whose two days are never the same. As part of the Bank you receive all the induction and mandatory training as you would if you were a permanent member of staff. It’s also a great way to showcase your skills should you want to become permanent with us in the future.
Registration on Bank requires a Qualified Registered Nurse to have completed a signed off full preceptorship in an Acute Hospital before applying.
Job Summary
The post holder will provide a high standard of nursing care by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating programmes of patient care. To work closely with the department / ward manager and multi-disciplinary team members in monitoring and maintaining policies, standards of nursing care, staff and service development within the department / ward environment.
To carry out all relevant forms of care under supervision and when proficient demonstrate procedures of care; supervise junior qualified and / or unqualified staff including student nurses whilst maintaining a safe working environment.
