This is the job
As our Bid Manager you will lead the end-to-end bid process, shaping compelling responses that reflect our brand and deliver real impact. This is a high-profile role where you’ll collaborate with senior stakeholders, drive bid excellence, and influence the future of our business growth.
You’ll be at the heart of our new business and account management efforts—managing governance, crafting standout submissions, and continuously improving our bid methodology. If you thrive in a fast-paced, FCA-regulated environment and have a track record of success in B2B bids, we want to hear from you.
What will I be doing?
- Taking ownership of the full bid process — from qualification and storyboarding to crafting compelling responses that meet customer requirements and deadlines.
- Managing customer tender portals with precision, ensuring our organisational details are always accurate and up to date.
- Maintaining and enhancing our new business pipeline, working closely with sales and account teams to ensure visibility and accuracy for senior stakeholders.
- Coordinating supplier questionnaires, ensuring timely and complete submissions that support our bid success.
- Leading the development of our bid knowledge bank, keeping content fresh, relevant, and ready to support winning proposals.
- Empowering commercial teams with high-quality tools and materials to showcase our product portfolio with confidence.
- Tracking and reporting bid outcomes, identifying trends and facilitating lessons learned sessions to continuously improve our approach.
- Conducting competitive analysis, sharing insights that inform strategy and sharpen our edge in the market.
- Championing best practice in bid and tender methodology, using market intelligence to innovate and increase our win rate.
What do I need?
Capability, Knowledge and Experience:
- Demonstrated ability to lead bids and proposals, ideally within an FCA-regulated environment.
- Proven experience managing projects or working teams, preferably in a B2B setting.
- Understanding of governance principles and how to apply them throughout the bid process.
- Comfortable engaging with stakeholders across all levels of an organisation.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms.
- Experience tracking and reporting on budgetary spend.
- Confidence in presenting complex business proposals to senior leadership.
- Experience working within structured corporate governance frameworks.
- Exposure to the automotive industry. (Desirable)
- Membership of APMP or a formal qualification in bid writing. (Desirable)
