Annual salary: up to £60,000.00**Bid Manager – Planned Works****Permanent, Full Time****Remote***Offering a salary of up to £60,000 depending on experience, plus £4,500 car allowance*We are looking for a Bid Manager to join our team at a time where the business is growing and we are winning contracts.Mears is one of the UK’s leading housing and care providers to both the public and private sector, with over 5,500 employees, working with clients to help develop, fund and implement their placemaking ambitions.**Mears**!**The Role**As a **Bid Manager**, you’ll report to a Senior Bid Manager and ultimately to the **Head of Bid Management**. You’ll take the lead on **high-quality bid submissions**, ensuring we deliver compelling, customer-focused proposals that win business.We’re looking for an organised and driven **Bid Manager** to join our Central Business Development Team. Reporting directly to the Senior Bid Manager, you’ll be responsible for coordinating and leading the production of high-quality, tailored tender submissions with a particular focus on Planned Works.Collaborating across operational and technical teams, you’ll ensure our bids showcase our expertise in delivering large-scale refurbishment, capital investment, and improvement programmes—helping us secure contracts that make a lasting impact on communities and the built environment.**Responsibilities include:*** Leading and owning the creation of winning tender submissions* Proactive management and leadership of each tender process* Ensure structure of the document reflects all requirements in a way that facilitates easy scoring* Produce well written proposals from researched and orchestrated responses which convey operational, technical and commercial solutions in a clear and concise manner* Design, collation, production and review of the final submission document, including the ownership and writing of all elements / sections* Working as part of the wider bid team to support and produce high quality, customer focused documents* Updating and integration of knowledge management within Document Management and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems* Managing multiple deadlines, whilst maintaining the highest levels of quality in written work**Role Criteria:*** Proven experience in writing high quality method statements* Experience of liaising with teams (particularly operators) in order to develop deliverable solutions* Competency in MS Office software* The ability to work to tight deadlines* Ability to maintain a flexible attitude to work task and workload to ensure tender deadlines are achieved* Calm under pressure and constant feedback / evaluation* Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients* Ability to work on own initiative***All our roles require candidates to have the entitlement to work within the UK, Mears does not currently offer visa sponsorship.******To drive a Mears vehicle, you must be aged over 21 have held your licence over 3 months and have less than 9 points.******Candidates should be aware that all our roles are subject to relevant Background, Identity & Security checks before commencement of employment.*****Benefits*** Enhanced Pension Scheme* Enhanced Sick Pay* Flexible working environment* Family friendly policy to include enhanced maternity/paternity leave and much more.* Team building activities* Share saver scheme* Eye test vouchers* Employee Assistance Programme (Access to Free counselling service)* Wellbeing service (Access to trained mental health & wellbeing advisors)* Mears Annual Family Fun Day for you and your family to places like Blairdrummond Safari Park, M&Ds Themepark, fully paid for including lunch* Mears Rewards - A performance recognition platform whereby you can be rewarded in high street vouchersAt Mears, you’ll be part of a **dynamic bid team** that makes a real impact, winning contracts that shape communities across the UK.Apply below or to discuss your application further; contact:Vickie Rudge (Vickie.Rudge@mearsgroup.co.uk)If you need any help with your application process, we are here to support you.
