Overview

The Billing Consultant role at KCOM involves joining the finance team as a detail-driven professional responsible for billing accuracy and timely invoice processing. This position supports cash flow, enhances customer experience, and upholds compliance and data integrity. It is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract, Full Time, with hybrid working options.

Salary – £24,900 per annum depending on experience. Location – Carr Lane, Hull, with hybrid working opportunity. Advert Closing Date – 13 October 2025. Interview Dates – To be confirmed after advert closing date.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out all billing activities across the KCOM group, ensuring accurate and timely invoices for customers.
  • Prepare and review invoice runs, including quality assurance checks and handling billing exceptions.
  • Maintain and update customer data in the billing system to support accuracy and efficiency.
  • Create credit notes and manual invoices where required.
  • Investigate, resolve, and prevent complex billing queries by working closely with other teams.
  • Review contracts and orders to extract billing information and ensure customers are billed correctly.
  • Support root cause analysis of billing issues to drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage data cleansing activities across billing and source systems.
  • Provide analysis and supporting information for manual or complex billing activities.
  • Handle billing queries from both internal and external customers with a service-focused mindset.
  • Take ownership of complex billing solutions for certain customers.

Requirements

  • Have previous experience in billing, finance administration, or a related role.
  • Are detail-oriented with strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Can work independently, using your initiative to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Have excellent organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a busy environment.
  • Possess strong communication skills and enjoy working collaboratively across teams.
  • Are confident using finance/billing systems (experience with APS or similar systems would be a bonus).
  • Demonstrate a proactive, customer-first approach with a drive to get things right the first time.
